
We're thrilled to announce that Sweet Basil Cooks A Second Helping is hot off the presses! It is a treasure trove of 269 recipes from our last five years - 2003 thru 2007.
The title derives from one of the nicest compliments a cook can receive: the request for a second helping. Collecting recipes good enough to merit such requests was the guiding principle adopted by the Sweet Basil Cookbook Committee as we planned a sequel to Sweet Basil Cooks! (Hard to believe that book is 10 years old - but then this fall we celebrate Sweet Basil's 15th anniversary.)
We had some great raw material to work with, of course. We asked our eight chef
instructors to submit favorite recipes from their last five years of classes.
That's the stack we began with and winnowed them down to the best of the best.
Just like the classes at Sweet Basil, Sweet Basil Cooks A Second Helping ranges
wide over the culinary landscape. A quick glance at the Index gives you an idea
of the variety: it begins with Ahi Tuna Salad with Mango Chili Vinaigrette
and ends with Zucchini Pappardelle - with lots of delicious recipes in
between designed to generate many requests for second helpings.
