Kids & Teens Cooking Classes
As soon as Martie Sullivan moved Sweet Basil
to a larger space she fulfilled another dream: cooking classes for Kids & Teen. And not just “kids-easy” dishes but the real deal. (See some of the sample classes below.) The TV cooking shows were gaining followers of all ages. Martie wanted to offer them a serious and fun environment with professional chefs teaching them to emulate their TV heroes.
Sweet Basil has classes for Kids & Teen scheduled throughout the year. In addition, we are well known for our Summer Cook Camps!!
Classes are also scheduled on Saturdays during the school year and extra classes during vacation periods. Parent Kids & Teen

Kids & Parents Cooking Dinner!
If you are aged 8 or above, invite your parent to be your partner for this class so that you can learn and cook this menu together. Everyone will make part of this family dinner lesson which includes Broccoli-Macaroni and Cheese Chowder; Beef Tostadas with Salsa Verde; Caprese Panini Sandwiches; Apple and Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breasts with Maple Sauce; Mozzarella stuffed Meatballs with Marinara Sauce; Spinach, Chicken & Alfredo Lasagna. Dessert will be Berry and Ricotta Turnovers with White Chocolate Ice Cream
Kids Cook - Cookie Baking!
This class is for people ages 8 and above who
have an interest in baking and want to experience and
learn to make more cookies. Our fun cookie baking class
will make S’mores Sandwich Cookies; Triple Chocolate Skillet
Cookie with Malted Ice Cream; Peanut Butter and Jelly Thumbprint
Cookies; Chocolate Caramel Cookie Bars; Fudgy Mint Cookies; Toffee
Biscotti Dipped in Dark Chocolate, and Root Beer Cookies.
Families Cook Sunday Dinner
If you are age 8 or above, find a partner and
bring them to cook with you! Our lesson is Lasagna Soup
with Ricotta and Basil; Chicken-Andouille Sausage Gumbo;
Pork Tenderloin with Peach Mustard Glaze and Rosemary
Risotto; Parmesan Crusted Tilapia with Pesto Cream
Cooker Balsamic Pot Roast with Roasted Garlic Whipped Potatoes;
Herb Garlic Crusted Flank Steak with Mushroom
Pan Sauce and Roasted Asparagus, and Alfredo

Kids Cook Party Foods!
This class for kids ages of 8 and 12 who like to
cook will learn a party food menu they can make for
themselves. Come have fun and learn Caprese Dip with Herb Pita Chips; BBQ Chicken
Loaded Nacho Grilled Cheese Panini; Flank Steak Tacos with
Homemade Flour Tortillas; Pork and Pineapple Kebabs,
and Meatball Sliders with Mozzarella and Parmesan Sweet
Dessert will be Chocolate Brownie Cookies filled with Caramel Ice Cream.
Some people & kids especially, like to make
desserts! This class is for kids ages 8 to 12 and an adult
partner, teaching about dessert-making. These are desserts you
can repeat at home and treat your whole family! Come for
a fun morning of baking to make Nectarine and Blueberry Crisp;

Kids & Teens Summer Camp Classes!
Looking for a great summer
program for your children? Are they always "helping" in the kitchen,
asking to bake cookies or fix dinner? Our Sweet Basil Kids & Teen Summer Culinary
Camp might be just the thing for them! Our camps feature a week of fun lessons,
each day has a new theme designed to keep them on the edge of their toes and
wanting more! Here are some examples of past camp menus:
Monday – GRILLED SANDWICHES: Three Cheese Grilled Cheese; Mini Croque
Monsieur (Grilled Ham & Cheese); BLT
Grilled Cheese; Turkey, Green Chili, & Grilled Cheese; Fritos, Chili &
Cheddar Grilled Sandwich; Grilled
Hamburger & Cheddar Sandwich, & S’mores Grilled Sandwich.
Tuesday – BREAKFAST: Sausage Pancakes with
Cinnamon Syrup; Homemade Biscuits with Honey Butter; Breakfast Tacos with
Scrambled Eggs, Cheese & fresh Salsa; French Toast with Strawberries; Breakfast
Potatoes with Bacon, & Strawberry “Pop Tarts”.

Friday – CUPCAKE WARS: Vanilla Cupcakes;
Chocolate Cupcakes; Red Velvet Cupcakes; Carrot Cupcakes; Banana Cupcakes.
Class will work in teams to make cupcakes, then choose colors for icing and
decorations to finish.
Classes are Monday – Friday,
with the Kids (8 – 12 years old) classes running 9:30am – 12:30pm and the Teens
(13 – 17 years old) class running from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. The cost is $300 per
week! These classes are really a great way to keep your kids and/or teens
entertained and learning something new while they are out of school!

all ingredients for the recipes & use of equipment & apron to use during class, lesson from an experienced instructor who is a professionally trained chef, demonstration of the techniques used in class a meal of the foods prepared beverages of water and iced tea, and copies of the recipes to take home!
